New easy-to-install system provides affordable, easy data collection...
EVERETT, Wash., July 8, 2005 - Intermec Technologies Corp. today introduced BasicADC for Microsoft's Retail Management System™, a self-contained automatic data collection starter system that goes from package to service in an hour. BasicADC for Microsoft's Retail Management System introduces bar code data collection into the retail environment by providing clients with a point-of-sale (POS) scanner, a scanner for the stockroom, a label printer and printer labels. The BasicADC hardware kit hooks into the POS (Point of Sale) loaded with the Microsoft Retail Management System. Using software from POSitive Technology, the POS station then automatically configures the hardware for a seamless installation.
Once installed, BasicADC harvests data to streamline a range of applications, from inventory control and shelf/price labeling to POS. The collected data is efficiently accessed and managed in the Microsoft Retail Management System. And as with all Intermec products and systems, BasicADC is an affordable, secure investment: as business grows, the system scales easily without need for any replacements.
"This collaboration arose from customer requests for simple, scalable, affordable solutions capable of providing the cost- and labor-saving efficiency often only available to large enterprises," said POSitive Technology Chief Executive Officer Brett Bennett. "Intermec and POSitive Technology will continue collaborating and helping organizations of any size streamline operations."
